About Jerky This & Orville Studley
The folks behind the Orville Studley's brand understand that American consumers
today are often unable to distinguish U.S. beef in the grocery store or in
restaurants. Under current country-of-origin marking rules, meat products from the
U.S. , Canada , and Australia are often sold side by side without any distinguishing
labels or other origin information. Even if consumers try to seek out U.S. beef, they
have no way of knowing where the product they purchase comes from. In fact, it is
easier for consumers to find out where their toys and clothes are manufactured,
than to learn the origin of the food they eat.
Congress sought to remedy these problems and allow consumers to make
informed choices by mandating country-of-origin labeling (COOL) for beef and
other products in 2002.

The law only allows beef to bare a “ U.S. ” origin label if the meat is wholly from
animals born, raised, and slaughtered exclusively in the U.S. Origin labeling for
meat has consistently received strong support in opinion polls. In addition, a
number of studies indicate that there is a consumer preference for beef labeled
with U.S. origin.

We're not going to tell you that Orville Studley's Beef Jerky is the best jerky around,
or that it is the kind the Native Americans cooked up over their campfires or that
tasting ours would release in your mouth “a symphony of flavors”, etc. etc. We will
let you make the decision. But what we will tell you is that we are a small USDA
inspected plant with eight (8) employees (at present) located in ‘THE FOOTHILLS
OF THE MISSOURI OZARK MOUNTAINS'.
We only use locally produced beef or beef produced within the United States ; not
Argentina , Brazil , Australia , Canada or ??? All of our ovens are homemade and it
probably takes twice as long to cook our product as compared to commercial
smokers. The work is labor intensive and we literally make “One piece at a time.”
That's the commitment we make to produce a high quality product using gourmet
ingredients without the preservatives made in the U.S.A.

Once we reach our maximum output, we do not expect to actively look for new
business. Our first priority is to take good care of our existing customers.
Orville Studley's Old Fashioned Beef Jerky made in the United States of America ,
